2019 Mounts Petite Sirah Petasera Estate Dry Creek Valley
Extraordinary inky black purple color. Abundant black and blue fruit aromatics with savory background notes. Flavors follow and the wine is juicy, and slightly chewy on the palate with robust tannins and full bodied texture. Blueberry, blackberry, baking spices, and a savory meaty character are palate pleasing. Well built, complex wine that will benefit from cellaring.
Whole berry destemming, 4 - 5 day cold soak, punch downs twice per day. Native yeast fermentation in small open top, one ton fermenters. Total skin contact 27 days. Barrel aged 20 months in 75% new French oak.
