2017 Verah Rhône Style Red Blend Estate
This Rhône style red blend has a powerful personality. Fragrant aromas of ganache, crushed raspberries and pencil shavings are intense but not overpowering. Flavors are loaded with deep black fruit, blackberry preserves, cassis, savory meat characters, and minerality. It is full-bodied with blockbuster tannins and will benefit from cellaring.
Each variety fermented separately. 4 - 5 day cold soak, 85% whole cluster fermentation, punchdowns 3 times per day. Native yeast fermentation in small, open top, one ton fermenters. Total skin contact 18 days. Barrel aged 20 months in 45% new French oak.
