2018 Verah Counoise Estate Grown
Crimson color loaded with fresh bright red fruit. Sweet plum and wild berry on the nose with hints of rose petals. Flavors of strawberry, cranberry, spice, and a touch of pepper will delight your tastebuds. Great acidity that leaves a pop on your palate. It is a very flavorful and pretty wine.
Estate grown Counoise, Tablas Creek clone, grafted on to 1103P, planted in 2014. Volcanic hillside soils, Southwest facing.
Whole berry destemming, 4 - 5 day cold soak, 25% whole cluster fermentation, punchdowns 3 times per day. Native yeast fermentation in small, open top, one ton fermenters. Total skin contact 12 days. Barrel aged 17 months in 25% new French oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Pairs well with grilled seafood, chicken, and sausage.
